Friends of Pool 9 Photo Contests (Membership and Youth)
The Friends of Pool 9 are offering two seperate photo contests this year. The first contest is open only to the members of the Friends of Pool 9. The second contest is open to all youth.
To participate in the members only contest, you must be an amateur photographer at least 18 years of age and your photos have to be taken in the Pool 9 area. Mail your photos, along with a filled out Photo Contest Entry Form, between May 1 and October 1, 2011 to: Natalie Baugher, Box 401, Lansing, Iowa 52151
There will be prizes for:
Overall Best of Show $50.00 and
1st Place for each category - $30.00
Prizes will be awarded in 2 categories:
Wildlife and Scenic Views
Photographers may enter up to two photos per category. If your photo contains pictures of people, you must have a signed release from each person in the photo.
Please submit photos 4" x 6" in size. We ask that you donate your pictures to the Friends of Pool 9 to be used on our web site or in our promotional material. (For our convenience we may ask you to provide a digital copy of your photo/s.) We will not sell your photos. If you wish your photos returned, please send a stamped, self addressed envelope along with your photo entry. If you do not send an envelope the photos will become the property of the Friends of Pool 9. Pictures may be on display during the year at businesses in the Pool 9 area and/or on our web site.
The winners will be announced at the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet in October, 2011. We're looking forward to seeing your entries!
Youth Photo Contest
To particpate in the Youth Photo Contest, photos must be taken by youth 17 years of age and under. Photos must be taken in or adjacent to Pool 9 of the Upper Mississippi River NW&FR. Entry photos should be 4" x 6" in size. You may submit up to 3 photos in each of the following catagories: Nature and Outdoor Recreation.
Complete entry forms must accompany each photo. All winning photos will become the property of the Friends of Pool 9. All other photos will become the property of the Friends of Pool 9, unless your picture and application are accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Winners will be announced at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
The deadline to submit your photos is October 1, 2011.
The Prize for each category is $50.00.
